United for a Fair Economy Celebrates 25 Years!

Responsible Wealth – a network of individuals in the top 1% of income and/or wealth – is one of our core programs at United for a Fair Economy (UFE). Members of Responsible Wealth joined the wider UFE community in September 2019 to celebrate UFE's 25th anniversary.

More than 150 of our friends and supporters came together to share food, stories, music and community in honor of our 25th year. Thanks to all who joined us in person or in spirit!

We wanted the event to reflect UFE’s core values – values like fairness, solidarity, pluralism, intersectionality, and justice. As you view the photos and think about the event – the music, the discussions, the awards, the people in the room – we hope you’ll agree that we succeeded!

More than 150 of our friends and supporters came together to share food, stories, music and community in honor of our 25th anniversary.

Guests included participants from our popular education training program, previous staff members, local community partner groups, supporters, sponsors, members of the press, honorees, artists, entertainers, volunteers and more.

Our director Jeannette Huezo welcomed everyone to the event. Then, emcees Eroc Arroyo-Montano (Director of Cultural Organizing), and Jay- Marie Hill (board member), kick-started the evening’s events with a joint performance that ended with the whole room singing together. UFE co-founder Chuck Collins shared reflections on the importance of our work. This was followed by a passionate dialogue about recent economic history between Anne Price, our Board chair, and renowned economist and labor organizer Bill Fletcher in a discussion on movement building.

Thank you so much to everyone who attended and supported the event and thank you for making the last 25 years possible!
